Infotech – outsourcing
Rural_BPOs see female dominance
Rural boys have more opportunities to go out to cities for better paying jobs, while girls usually stay back in the village because of societal /family reasons, even if they are educated. All 100 people working with Vintes, operating in three Kerala villages, are women. But lack of other opportunities is not the only reason why women are more in number in rural BPOs.

V-Guard Industries’ proposed IPO gets 3/5 rating from Crisil
Kochi-based V-Guard Industries, engaged in the manufacture and sale of a host of household products, has received a 3/5 rating for its proposed initial public offering from domestic rating agency Crisil
The rating indicates that the fundamentals of the issue are average in relation to the other listed equity securities in India. It also factors in the strengths of the company's model of outsourcing stabiliser manufacture, which has ensured high margins in past years.
V-Guard dominates the stabiliser business in southern India, with a high market share and brand recall. The company also has a growing presence in the small-ticket electronic and electrical goods industry in general.
